UndertheruleoftheQingDynast,themanufacturingofMountHuiclayfigurinesgraduallyroseinprosperity.ThereweremorethanahundredmemorialtemplesintheMountHuiarea.Thebusinessofthehandicraftsmenwasmainlymadeupofthesememorialtemplekeepers.Theytookadvantageoftheirsparetimewhilelookingafterthetemplestoundertaketheirclayfigurinecreationandproduction.Duringeachtemplefair,whenthesilkwormpodsgrewripe,andthestudentstooktheimperialexaminations,itbecameaflourishingseasonsforsellingclayfigurines。
DuringtheyearsofQianlong,clayfigureworkshopsbegantocomeintobeing.IntheareaofUpperRiverEmbankment,therewerefourfamiliesnamedrespectivelytheQians,theYuans,theZhus,andtheJiangsrunninghandcraftworkshops
dealingonlyclayfigurines.Theyallmadeclayfigurinesandsoldthem.Everyyea~duringtheperiodofAug.15toAprilofthenextyearonthelunarcalendarweretheprosperousseasons.Theproductsduringthisperiodoftimewereallkindsoftoysforkids,whichalsocalledtoygoods.AmongthewellknownwereSilkwormCats,7igersinCarts,No.IScholarinCart,PrettyNunComingDownhillinCart,LittleSisterinPail,LittleColoredKids,LuckyKids,andBlessingKids.
